Business Strategy

Our Business Strategy department provides technology solution guidance and support to HD Vest business units to help them define, prioritize and deliver solutions that align with our overall corporate strategy. Business Strategy serves as a liaison between IT and business units by planning, conducting and directing the analysis and project management of business problems to be solved with automated systems.



Our Compliance department addresses the responsibilities outlined by various regulators. Each team is responsible for implementing, creating and enforcing a subset of the regulations established by the SEC, FINRA, MSRB and state regulators.


Finance & Administration

Our Finance and Administration department prepares the company budget and monitors our financial performance in relation to that budget as well as other measures. In addition, the team prepares and submits various reports to the Wealth Management Group Finance and performs various financial analyses such as advisor production and product profitability.


Human Resources

Our Human Resources (HR) department provides overall policy direction on a variety of people-related subjects. It seeks to be a strategic partner to the rest of the business by providing programs that attract, develop, engage and retain a skilled and diverse workforce – all with an emphasis on consultation, communication and customer service.


Information Technology

Our Information Technology (IT) department focuses on measuring and improving the quality of technology services delivered to HD Vest employees and clients. IT includes talented people who focus on Internet Systems, Corporate Systems, QA Support and Infrastructure Support.



Our Legal department enhances HD Vest’s legal representation by minimizing legal exposure and costs. Legal protects our firm from restrictive regulatory and governmental actions, and finds ways to use regulatory and governmental entities to our strategic advantage.



The Marketing team is comprised of Business Development and Marketing Communications. Business Development is responsible for generating prospective Advisor leads and converting them into Advisors. Marketing Communications works with internal staff to develop communications and marketing collateral to help HD Vest Advisors manage their financial services practice.


National Sales

Our National Sales department provides sales and support to HD Vest Advisors, clients and employees. The team includes multiple departments that specialize in widely different aspects of our business strategy.



Our Operations department provides support for our brokerage, direct at fund and annuity accounts. This includes executing trades, performing account maintenance and various other financial and non-financial transactions. Operations is also responsible for responding to inquiries, performing research on requests and generating quarterly reports for managed products.


Training & Events

Our Training and Events department manages Advisor and HD Vest team member training. Within the Training and Events department, the Meetings and Events team plans the annual Connect Conference, training seminars and workshops held throughout the year as well as company events. The Training team creates and facilitates a wide range of instructor-led and technology-driven training opportunities.
